Ignite The Ibex is a technical death metal band from 'The Hills' district in Western Sydney.
The line-up was gradually assembled from 2004 onwards with Dyer and DuBarry as the founding members. Vocalist Chris Elder recorded on a few early demos until he was replaced by Terry Crane.
Ben DuBarry and Nick Pupovac were amongst the first musicians in Australia to own, write and record with Ibanez's first commercial line of 8-String guitars. The band plays in drop-E tuning, which reflects a strong ''Meshuggah'' influence in their sound.
The band independently released a self-titled EP in January 2010.
