Band information
Arkheth is from Orange, NSW, originally a fairly standard symphonic black metal band. The band was formed when most of the line-up of Eternal Dark split, leaving only Skolthorn and Tyraenos. Arkheth played a few live shows in 2004 including Sydney’s Bloodlust Festival but became inactive since, only to re-emerge on the live front briefly during 2008 having added Muurge on bass. Since then the band has remained elusive as an occasional live entity, but the enormous ten track IX & I: The Quintessence of Algaresh double album was released in 2010, showing a directional change into truly epic and doom-laden black metal.
