Avantgard was a Perth black metal band that formed out of the ashes of [[Sacritual]]. After only two shows the group split up when Roddick and Middlebosch left; however the Spargos recorded a demo with Louis Rando of [[Pagan]] and [[The Furor]] on drums in 2001. By 2003 a complete line-up was drawn together with the addition of Regnator, Trevaskis, Ildach and Maelstrom and late in the year recorded a six-track CD and played shows with [[Deströyer 666]] and [[Alchemist]].
