Band information

Roxus was a Melbourne hair metal band that scored both a high-charting single and album but was unable to capitalise on this success and predictably self-destructed. The group originally formed as Bahragah in 1987 with ex-Taipan member Joe Cool on guitar but when Roxas joined the following year the band became known as Roxus. On the strength of a self-financed single, they became the first act signed to Molly Meldrum's ill-fated Melodian label.

The band first tasted chart success with a live EP followed by national tours with Poison and Bon Jovi. The annoying "Where Are You Now?" shot up into the heights of the Top 20 and Roxus toured with Warrant but the follow ups were virtually ignored. Nightstreet charted briefly but stiffed after only a week or so and while they stumbled on for a further three years, the band split in 1994 following wholesale personnel changes the previous year which saw the entire line-up with the exception of Roxas and Stanic replaced.

The bass role was taken briefly by producer and songwriter Craig Harnath, who first made his name in post-New Romantic pop group Kids in the Kitchen! Nixon and Danielson later turned up in Chocolate Starfish. Juno Roxas moved on to an ill-advised solo career and has dropped from sight.
