Band information
Melbourne band Contrive plays angry metal with a hardcore edge that isn't that far removed from late-90s Sepultura at times.
Stahlmann and Paul Haug featured in the final version of Fracture and Contrive grew out of that band's demise. Not long after forming the group released an EP and appeared at Metal for the Brain and has since developed a reputation as a band who will play anywhere with anyone. In 2002, Contrive supported Mayhem and Destruction, released a second EP in early 2003 and racked up shows with Sepultura, Soilwork and Machine Head.
