=== Formed ===
Tensions Arise is a groove metal band formed in western Sydney in 2008. The band played its first show in early 2010; shortly afterwards Essen left only to rejoin again later in the year when Sparky departed. After releasing an EP in late 2010, the band added second guitarist Vanessa in mid-2011 but her stay was short and she and Essen were replaced in 2012 by Daniel Ash and James Barnes. An album was recorded during 2012 with '''Logan Mader''' in LA and Tensions Arise played shows with '''HED(pe)''' and '''Jeffrey Nothing'''. In late 2013, Seraph Black announced his intention to leave the band at the end of the year following after a Sydney  support to '''Soilwork''' and interstate shows.
