Miazma is an extreme metal band from Alice Springs who were in part responsible for the establishment of The Black Wreath recording collective. The band formed as a four piece in 2008, soon adding guitarist Shaun Howell. In 2009 they won the Territory's leg of a global band contest and played TerrorFest in Darwin, and in 2011, Miazma appeared at [[Bastardfest]]. The band released their debut album ''Bacteria of this Earth'' in 2013 and toured Australia and Indonesia, and won the "Heavy" category of the NT Song of the Year Awards in 2014 with their song ''Pestilence''. Since the establishment of [[Blacken Open Air]], Miazma has appeared every year. | |||
