Usage
This template produces a component of an hCard microformat, which makes a person or place's details parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue article across Wikipedia, or via a browser tool operated by a reader, to (for example) add the subject to an address book. For more information about the use of microformats on Wikipedia, please see the microformat project.
hCard uses HTML classes including:
- adr
- agent
- bday
- category
- county-name
- extended-address
- fn (required)
- geo
- honorific-prefix
- honorific-suffix
- label
- locality
- nickname
- note
- org
- role
- vcard
Please do not rename or remove these classes nor collapse nested elements which use them.
Specifically this template takes the background
parameter from {{Infobox musical artist}} or {{Navbox musical artist}} and returns either fn
(for individuals) or fn org
(for groups), thus:
- person = fn
- solo_singer = fn
- non_vocal_instrumentalist = fn
- non_performing_personnel = fn
- group_or_band = fn org
- cover_band = fn org
- classical_ensemble = fn org
- temporary = fn org
