Band information
Beginning in 1995 as a three piece of Chandra (on bass and vocals), Connor and Dimas, Linedriver's style shifted from a standard heavy rock sound to a rabid, pounding hardcore groove with an intimidating dual vocal attack and monstrous riffs, something akin to a cross between Sick Of It All and Sepultura. With pounding grooves and driving fury, Linedriver clocked up supports to the likes of Unsane, Brutal Truth, Madball and Strapping Young Lad over the years and their EP was a powerful statement of brute force and aggression. Linedriver experimented with a second guitarist a number of times, but on each occasion returned to their original three piece assault. The band went on to replace Manticore at the 1998 Metal for the Brain, then was quiet for much of 1999 before splitting up in early 2000.
Linedriver reformed early in 2002 as a five piece with ex-Segression drummer Red taking over from Dimas who was by now a member of the Blurters, but there is no evidence that this version of the band ever got off the ground.
