Band information
Empire was a Sydney-based leather and hair band playing seamless and slick commercial heavy rock in the LA glam vein. The group began as a cover band (called Chunky) in Perth before moving to Sydney where they became popular with the glam metal crowd with tight performances and some strong songwriting.
After several years the band moved base to Melbourne to link up with new management but within weeks had split up. A second album was released in parts of Europe only.
Singer Simmons is not to be confused with the singer of the same name from Henry's Anger.
This Empire should not be confused with the death metal band called Empire, also from Perth.
