Tyrant hailed originally from Hobart where in an earlier incarnation it had played under the name Slyder, a moniker to which it eventually reverted in 1986. A hard-riffing heavy boogie band in the AC/DC/Rose Tattoo mixed with 80s style metal, Tyrant featured strong lead vocals from Wilson.
