Band Information
Melodic, Progressive, Energetic, Heavy and Soulful are some of the words used by fans and critics to describe the music of Sobrusion. Since its beginnings four and a half years ago, the band has made some serious ground in the recent past and has played with some of Australia's most popular and well-known musical acts. With their debut album "The First Embrace" getting regular airplay and rave reviews locally and in places as far as Germany, France, Poland, Portugal and Japan, Sobrusion has gained reputation as a band that not only writes great music but also as performers who are passionate about their audience feeling every bit as involved as they are into their music. Featuring regularly in the top 10 on the TripleJ Unearthed metal charts and on heavy rock compilations across the globe the band now has a faithful underground following that is as commited as they are to live and enjoy the music that is Sobrusion.
Sobrusion is a progressive melodic metal band that was formed by Shanul Sharma of Jennifer Will Drown in mid 2005. After a formative period and several successful shows the band recorded The First Embrace during 2006. Following the album's release in December the band's status locally elevated and during 2007 Sobrusion opened for acts like Something For Kate and Thirsty Merc and also appeared on the Wagga Wagga leg of the Festival of the Dead tour. Blyton later switched from guitar to bass due to Tait (also of Leicohtica) departing and Brodie Simons replacing Elliot. The band no longer exists.

The band is currently in the recording process for the follow up to the debut CD which is aimed at a release date later this year.
