A hard-riffing heavy boogie band in the AC/DC/Rose Tattoo mixed with 80s style metal, Tyrant featured strong lead vocals from Wilson.
In late 1998 the band reformed and has since released a couple of albums of loud, blues-drenched metal. Tyrant was on hold for some time as Wilson worked with another outfit called Roadkill but in 2005 the band was reformed and recorded a live CD. A new album is being recorded.
