Band information
Carpe Tenebrum is the solo vehicle for former Dimmu Borgir guitarist Astennu. The first album appeared shortly after he relocated to Norway and both it and the follow-up feature symphonic black metal with his then Dimmu Borgir bandmate Nagash on lead vocals. After he was fired from Dimmu Borgir, Astennu returned to Australia and has since worked as a producer and sound engineer and been a member of various Sydney bands including Infernal Method and Stronger Than Hate.
Carpe Tenebrum's latest album is stylistically different to the previous two, leaning towards classic Florida-style death metal.
