Arkheth is from Orange, NSW, originally a fairly standard symphonic black metal band. The band was formed when most of the line-up of Eternal Dark split, leaving only Skolthorn and Tyraenos. Arkheth played a few live shows in 2004 including Sydney’s Bloodlust Festival but became inactive since, only to re-emerge on the live front briefly during 2008. Since then the band has remained elusive as an occasional live entity, but the enormous ten track IX & I: The Quintessence of Algaresh double album was released in 2010, showing a directional change into truly epic and doom-laden black metal.
