Band information

Thornhill began as a metalcore band that was formed in high school in 2015 by Jacob Charlton, Sam Anderson, Ethan McCann and Ben Maida. By the middle of the next year they had released a single featuring Jack Bergin from Void of Vision as guest vocalist and issued an EP. During 2017 Thornhill toured with Architects, Void of Vision, Hellions, Alpha Wolf and Northlane and at the end of the year Anderson left to be replaced by Matt van Duppen of Better Half.

Thornhill toured with Parkway Drive in 2018, then did a show in Adelaide with Architects and signed to UNFD who released their EP Butterfly that narrowly missed out on an ARIA Top 50 slot. Over the next year and a half Thornhill toured with bands like Ocean Grove, Make Them Suffer and In Hearts Wake and appeared at the Unify Gathering in 2019. The Dark Pool was released in October and peaked at #20 on the ARIA chart and the band toured nationally in support. Soon after they played across the UK and Europe with Wage War and were set to appear at Download in Sydney and Melbourne but those shows were cancelled due to the pandemic and the band didn't play live again until early 2021.

Thornhill appeared at Unify Gathering in 2022 and then played three shows performing their forthcoming album in full. Heroine was released in early June 2022.
