Band Information

Avantgard was a Perth black metal band that formed out of the ashes of Sacritual. After only two shows the group split up when Roddick and Middlebosch left; however the Spargos recorded a demo with Louis Rando of Pagan and The Furor on drums in 2001. By 2003 a complete line-up was drawn together with the addition of Regnator, Trevaskis, Ildach and Maelstrom and late in the year recorded a six-track CD and played shows with Destroyer 666 and [{Alchemist]]. However, the momentum was not sustained and despite making it through to the 2004 National Campus Band Competition the group had finished by the end of the year with several members going on the join Wardaemonic.

The band's album was eventually released in 2006.
