Band information

Sanctuary was a fairly standard metal act from Sydney. The female vocals gave them a sound something akin to a strange cross between Warlock and Metallica but without the dynamics or energy of either. The band played (and helped organise) the Roadblock festival in 1997 which was headlined by Cradle of Filth but had little to recommend them otherwise. Court and Purchase left the band early 1999 and Sanctuary folded.

Most of the band reunited as S.C.R.U.M. not long afterward.
