Acacia formed in Toowoomba, QLD, in 2008 and gigged locally until they disbanded in 2010. A short time later, Penny McKay and James Farr reformed the band with a completely new line-up in Brisbane. At the end of the year the band recorded an EP that was released in 2011. Early in 2012, Farr left Acacia and was replaced by James Hill, formerly of [[Aeternitas]] and [[Empyrean]] and the group supported '''Sybreed''' and appeared at the Dead of Winter festival mid-year, along with some shows in NSW.
