Not to be confused with the late-80s Sydney punk band, Asylum is a thrash quartet from Brisbane. After forming in 2012, they an EP after which Levi Damaris replaced original drummer Chris Cavallaro. They appeared at Steel Assassins in Sydney in late 2014.

Asylum released a second EP in 2016, and the following year supported Lich King and Anvil in Brisbane, as well as Destruction in 2018. During 2019 the band played shows with Artillery, Metal Church, Voivod and on a tour by Raven, Tank and Girlschool.
