Band Information

Avantgard was a Perth black metal band that formed out of the ashes of Sacritual. After only two shows the group split up when Scott Roddick and Jerry Middlebosch left; however the Spargos recorded a demo with Louis Rando of Pagan and The Furor on drums in 2001. By 2003 a complete line-up was drawn together with the addition of Regnator, Brad Trevaskis, Ildach and Maelstrom and late in the year recorded a six-track CD and played shows with Deströyer 666 and Alchemist. However, the momentum was not sustained and despite making it through to the 2004 National Campus Band Competition the group had finished by the end of the year with several members going on to join Wardaemonic and Ildach joining Mhorgl. The band's album was eventually released in 2006.
