Black Asylum is a thrash band from Wyong on the NSW Central Coast. The band formed in 2004 and began to develop a solid reputation right away. Releasing an EP at each end of 2006, the group featured at shows like [[Metalstock]] and completed an album in 2007 for release in 2008. In January 2008 Klerk from [[Rather Be Dead]] replaced Jones, who joined Sydney band [[Dred]]. Soon afterward, the band released their debut album that features a guest appearance by Justin Gonzales from [[Antonamasia]]. In October 2008 it was announced that Black Asylum had been picked up by the Riot! label.
