Circle the Dead featured commercial metalcore in the style of Parkway Drive and the band was nominated for an Australian Metal Award for the artwork in 2009. Newman subsequently rejoined the band as a guitarist.
In early 2010 Buried in Verona recorded their second album in Sweden with Fredrik Nordström; Saturday Night Sever was released in June and the band followed it up by touring with Bermuda and Silent Screams. In September they will again go on a national tour, and play a show with Soilwork in Sydney.
