Carbon Black was formed in Wollongong in April 2013 by Damon Bishop and Rob Giles, immediately after the dissolution of their previous band [[Nekrofeist]]. Cook was replaced by Rob Giles' brother Steve, who had been with Demigod with Bishop and Carbon Black released End of This in 2018, going on to support tours by Max and Iggor Cavalera, Voivod and Ross the Boss. The band's second album was released in May 2022 and features an appearance by Ripper Owens.
