Band information

Claim the Throne is a Perth band that plays classic Scandinavian-style Viking metal, completing their image by dressing the part and wielding swords on stage. The band released Only the Brave Return during 2008, a concept piece based on a book also written by the band members. Jesselina replaced Nicolina at this point and Claim the Throne played at Against the Grain in 2009 shortly after the release of Ale Tales. Early in 2010, Oscarius of Dyscord joined the band ahead of a national tour with Alestorm. The second full-length album Triumph and Beyond was released in December 2010, with Pathogen's Glenn Dyson joining the band around the same time and the group embracing a more epic death metal style. Claim the Throne toured nationally with Finntroll in early 2011 and then headlined their own tour from August that included appearances at Bastardfest. Following those shows, Claim the Throne played in the UK with Alestorm. The band then went to work on their third full length album, Forged in Flame which was released in September 2013 and saw the members dispensing with their old stage names. Triumph and Beyond and Aletales were also re-released as a single CD around the same time.
