Band information
Confession is a commercial metalcore band started by Crafter after I Killed the Prom Queen's farewell tour in 2008. The original line-up featured Dan Brown (50 Lions) on guitar and vocals plus Adam Harris (guitar), Borgs (bass) and Matthew Owens (drums). Late in 2008 they released an EP, toured briefly with Deez Nuts and then on the Sweatfest Tour with Parkway Drive, A Day to Remember, Suicide Silence and The Acacia Strain. Owens and Borgs departed during 2009. Brown switched to bass and ex-Hiroshima Will Burn member Tyrone Burke filled the guitar slot with Shane O'Brien taking over on drums. Cancer was released on October 9, 2009 and the band toured in support. In January 2010 Confession again toured with Parkway Drive. Shortly afterward, Burke was fired. Kevin Cameron from I Killed the Prom Queen replaced him for a short time until Brown switched back to guitar and former The Red Shore vocalist Jamie Hope took on the bass duties. After one tour Hope left and ex-50 Lions member Byron Carney joined briefly before he also departed. Brown switched back to bass once more until Tim Anderson from The Red Shore joined the band in 2010, in time for a national support with The Amity Affliction. Confession then went out on their own tour and appeared at the No Sleep til Festival.
In 2011 Confession recorded their second album in Sweden and played some shows with Raised Fist while there. Another Australian tour with Parkway Drive followed. The Long Way Home emerged in September and peaked at #47 on the ARIA chart. It was followed by a tour with Thy Art is Murder and Antagonist A.D. from New Zealand. In May 2012, Anderson, Harris and O'Brien announced they had fired Crafter from the band. Crafter retaliated by taking over the band's Facebook page and announced that the others had been sacked. A short time later, a new line-up emerged led by Crafter and featuring Doyle Perez, William Carrette and Jake Dargavile. Confession will tour with the Soundwave Festival in 2013.
