Nekrofeist was forged in the industrial heartland of Australia’s East Coast by four of the region’s most talented, versatile and experienced musicians. Despite having crossed paths individually at various points in their musical careers, it wasn’t until 2008 that the band hit upon the current lineup; consisting of Dave Tinelt (vocals), Damon Bishop (guitar), Paul Gilroy (drums) and Rob Giles (bass). They found among themselves a common desire to create intense, brutally heavy music that was rooted in classic metal of the past, yet strikingly modern at the same time. To date, Nekrofeist have proudly funded and self-produced two incredible independent music videos, for the songs Nerve Rack (2008) and Kills Everything (2009). Both received rotation on Rage (ABC TV) and Channel V’s Heavy Shift (Austar) to wide acclaim from metal fans across the country. Nekrofeist were recently awarded a coveted Indigenous Arts grant through Gadigal Music, which led to the recording of their explosive debut EP, due out in June of 2010 via MGM. The EP was produced by Ash Manning (Tourettes) and engineered by Lachlan Mitchell (Naxzul, Henry’s Anger). Nekrofeist are primed and ready to hit the stage to showcase their powerful new music. This is one metal band that sets their standards high, and refuses to play by anyone’s rules but their own.
