Band Information

Ocean Grove is an eclectic experimental band that has evolved through a variety of styles. Originally a post-hardcore band with the line-up of Luke Holmes, Jimmy Hall, Matias Morales, Dale Tanner (then the band's bassist) and Running Touch, Morales departed after the release of Outsider in March 2013. Sam Bassal joined Ocean Grove at this point. Running Touch stopped being a touring member of the band in 2014 but has remained as a full member for recordings and song-writing. His role as live guitarist was taken over by Matt Henley and their next EP Black Label reached the ARIA Top 50. A national tour followed and in November they supported Northlane on an Australian tour.

The following year Ocean Grove supported the dual headline Northlane/In Hearts Wake national tour. Black Label was released internationally as Black Label (Sublime Vol.) with added tracks. The Rhapsody Tapes dropped on February 3, 2017 and reached #5 on the ARIA Album chart on debut. A national tour followed and then Ocean Grove went to Europe with Northlane before opening for August Burns Red in the US in early 2018. Upon returning to Australia, the band played the Download Festival in Melbourne and then supported Limp Bizkit on the east coast. After the announcement of another album for 2019, the single Glass Gloss came out in December 2018, immediately followed by the departure of Holmes and Hall, who played their final show with the band at Unify Gathering in January 2019.

Tanner switched to full-time vocalist and Twiggy Hunter joined as the band's bassist. At this point, Ocean Grove's style shifted to nu-groove and rap metal. Flip Phone Fantasy was released on March 13, 2020 and peaked at #8. Touring and live performance was halted by COVID restrictions and Henley departed the band in late 2021. His position in the live band has been taken by Andy Szetho.

Ocean Grove's third album Up in the Air Forever was released on April 22, 2022 and peaked at #8.
