Get ready Australia. Miramar has hit the independent Australian music scene running. Daryn St Pierre of the New Review recently wrote “there is no doubt that Miramar is a force to be reckoned with”. Miramar stands out above other independent bands in the rock genre, with the euphoric beats, melodies and a sound unlike any other. Described as “alternative and progressive, with hardcore characteristics”, Miramar are carving out their own genre of music.

Since the release of Miramar’s debut album “Fight Lights up the Skies” in January, 2010, and the digital release on iTunes, Miramar have been in demand by venues, the public and musical events throughout Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Newcastle. The bands feature track ‘We are the Future’ has received radio rotation in 18 countries around the world including: Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, UK, South Africa and throughout the US.

Miramar completed their first film clip to the track ‘We are the Future’ in 2010 and in May 2011 won the Triple J Unearthed competition to have their film clip for ‘Fights Light up The Skies’ produced by the National Institute of Dramatic Arts.

In their short time on the music scene Miramar have reached and held the number one spot on Triple J Unearthed with their hits “So far gone”, “Self Destruction” and “We are the Future”. Miramar has shared the stage with some of Australias best known bands such as Grinspoon, Dead letter Circus, Butterfingers, Mammal, The Lazys and Art vs Science and always perform to a captivated audience.

The band has come a long way in their short career and are ready to go the whole way. Miramar is one of the hardest working unsigned bands, forcing their way through the Australian music industry with their own sound and a thick fan base. Miramar delivers a relentless and energetic live show with strong messages poured into the lyrics by front man Craig Paterson. People remember Miramar, for their amazing live shows, unique image and songs that pull on heart strings. Miramar will play a big role in the future of Australian music and particularly in the rock, alternate genre. I urge you to see a live performance for yourself, Miramar’s rise is bound to surge in the coming months of 2011.
