Primordial emerged from South Cronulla in March ’97 with the intention of creating energetic and powerful music with a fresh groove. The song writing pursued many directions within the metal genre. The band achieved a more organic sound than the typical thrash crunch of their peers, and displayed an uncanny instinct for previewing a style which would later gain ground with acts such as System Of A Down, and Linkin Park.

PRIMORDIAL : Malcolm Lloyd, Derek Turner, Macca, Nathan Millet, Chris Warr

These guys played metal - but lived a beach lifestyle

Lyrically the band has covered many subjects ranging from personal beliefs ‘Toby’, to going off with your mates ‘Grindsteady’. The band began road testing their material with a few select performances in late ‘97 and early ‘98. The shows were executed with maturity and precision, and established the group with a solid reputation. Initially crowds were challenged by the variety of dynamics and intensities of the music, but were soon converted to the Primordial experience

Primordial recorded a 5 track Demo in October ’97, and a follow up 9 track CD / EP recorded in April ’98, recorded at Zen studio’s in Sydney.

In 2005 the track "Nullified" was used to promote awesome footage from the World Industries Snow moto-x held at Falls Creek Australia 16th August 2005.
