Band information
Perth trio Under the Influence plays a thrashy form of progressive metal. Formed by Lumsden and Smith in 2005, the band had released its first album by March 2006 and followed it up with a second two years later that received good reviews in Perth and in Australian Guitar magazine. Concentrating mostly on studio work, Under the Influence completed a third album in mid-09, after which bassist Chad McShane left the band. A three-track single featuring "Age of Complacency" was released in August 2009 that included a video clip of the track "So Cold". Duane Bonney of ShadowPlay added backing vocals to the lead track.
The Brutal Harsh Honest Truth was released on February 6, 2010 and Under the Influence did interstate shows in support.
