Band information

The genesis of Ya Ya Choral was in the post-punk electronic noise band Scattered Order. From there the band become YYC but remained electronic until the mid 80s when with the addition of Urbanik and Kelly, Ya Ya Choral turned to a punk-thrash style. While at times strident and noisy, Ya Ya Choral was able to attract considerable support and strong reviews, particularly for the One Small Step for Mankind set that was by all accounts recorded in one take.

After this, the band began to come apart when interested labels tried to reshape them into a commercial direction and Tee, Graham and Filewood spent an extended period in the UK, changing the name to Fear of Angels sometime around the beginning of the 90s. Graham and Tee continued to record under different names including The Whole World and Mona Lisa Overdrive but went into a period of self-imposed hiatus in 1996.

Ya Ya Choral now endures as a two-piece recording entity of Graham and Tee in their original electronic format.

Note: The line-up details and releases relate to the band’s ‘metal’ phase only.
