If you are able to delete the page created by me, that would fix what I messed up. I'm trying to tread carefully because I don't want to create redundant pages etc, so excuse my mistakes to begin with.

===Town Categories===
Yeah definately pointless making a category for one band. While were on it, is it worth adding bands that are just a local thing, never really do more than gigs, or is this site for all Aussie metal bands, no matter how small?
Also, what is your opinion on putting the [[ links around all bands - for instance in the gig guide etc. - since this will add it to the "wanted pages" list. It'd be a good way to see which bands need a page made.[[User:Pharmer4|Pharmer4]] 10:37, 8 January 2008 (CET)

Very cool on the local bands - that is what I was hoping this site was about. Very good point about non-metal bands on the bill of metal gigs - something I had not thought of. I'm rapt to have found this site, something very akin to what I am trying to do with www.heavymetalnation.com (actually, once bands etc start to flesh out, what is your opinion about making pages for metal-related australian services, such as recording studios and magazines/press?)

G'Day dude.
I said ages ago that I wanted to try and see if i could make infoboxes work here, but it's not working - I am obviously not implementing the templates correctly.
As a result, I have made these three pages that you'll need to delete - sorry about this

cool dude, is this because you feel the same way about them as I do, or becuase you feel they require special attention like AC/DC, or because you don't see them as metal?

Hmm, you'll end up in muddy waters there dude. Many people class bands like Picture The End as hardcore, etc. Eventually, it becomes academic. [[User:Pharmer4|Pharmer4]] 15:59, 29 January 2008 (CET)
== Venues ==
This is a really cool idea for a wiki, good work!
I was wandering if when listing venues it was possible to link it to, say, a google maps page. Some of the venues have pretty generic names and I am having difficulty pin-pointing whether or not I have the right place.
Just an idea.
Cheers

no hassles mate, fallout mag liam sent me this way to help out, got a heap more info and scans of demos, tracklists and suchforth for brisbane bands

Hey Brian. I signed up as this project looks interesting. It is good to see you've kept going with ausmetal. I can give you a hand w/ the BM side of things especially.

G'Day

Very Cool.

no probs on the categories - what about bands from towns that have not had a category yet (ie when I get to some of the local bands near me) - is it ok to add their town as a category?

Also, I have been fixing links to band pages based on the Wanted Pages list. I found an issue when I tried to add a band, then realsied the wanted page was there because a link to the band page was spelled incorrectly - of the human condition. The band page I created has not been showing up when you press on the links, but the listing for the page is still showing up in searches etc.

If you are able to delete the page created by me, that would fix what I messed up. I'm trying to tread carefully because I don't want to create redundant pages etc, so excuse my mistakes to begin with.
