Band Information
Originally known as Malleus Maleficarium, The Kindred was a Wollongong death and thrash band. Under the original name, the band featured former Eezee drummer McGarva and Wesley along with Colin Brown on bass and guitarist Keef Collier. Rubicante came into the band with the release of their first 8-track cassette in late 1993, and this was followed by the departure of Collier in 1994, leaving the band as a three piece for the recording of "Do What Thou Wilt", more or less an album-length demo.
In 1996 Passlow joined the Kindred and the band supported Zeni Geva. After this The Kindred began to develop a reputation for strong and regular live performances in and around the Sydney area. The band's first CD recording, In The Company of Rats was released in 1999. Rubicante was replaced sometime later and after that little was heard from them.
