Band information

A Melbourne power metal band in the Stratovarius mould, Crimsonfire was formed around Dianne Melichar, Anthony Tabone and Louie Gorgievski in 1998. After a formative song-writing period, the band was joined by Paul Yoannidis and one time Supremacy drummer Dom Pinto. A three-track demo was recorded in mid-2000 and two years later work began on a full-length album. After signing to Majestic Rock Records, Crimsonfire's self-titled debut album was released in October 2005.

In July 2006 the band supported Queensrÿche. During 2007 the band spent most of the year preparing songs for a second album that to date has still not been released. In August 2008 Yoannidis left the group and sometime later Pinto also departed; Damien Brede and John Wauchope (ex-Enter Twilight) then joined the fold. Dan Presland from Ne Obliviscaris later played drums with Crimsonfire for a brief period.
