Band information
Hyperion was a Malmsteenesque neo-classical melodic speed/power metal act from Melbourne. During the first half of the 1990s, Hyperion was that city's premier act of this style, with music characterised by gloriously excessive twin guitar solos and high-pitched, clean vocals. In spite of being one of Melbourne's more popular traditional-style heavy metal bands, Hyperion eventually split in 1998, with Georgopoulos moving onto Eyefear.
