Band information

Taking their name from two characters in a Jack Daniel's TV ad, Dern Rutlidge featured Blood Duster's Jason PC and Miszewski and Westwood from Christbait. Their style drew from a pool of influences that included Kyuss, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Black Sabbath, resulting in a Southern-fried, progressive take on sludge rock.

The band won supports to an long list of international touring acts including the likes of Rollins Band, the Hellacopters, Fear Factory, Morbid Angel, Fu Manchu and Bad Brains. After the EP release, Dern Rutlidge signed to High Beam Records and in 2001 released Johnny No Stars.
