Band information
Synnöve was formed by ex-Virgin Black member Brad Bessell and Stephanie in 2002. The group plays atmospheric black metal.
The first EP was completed with Aaron Harslett from Embodiment 12:14 on drums and released independently before being re-issued by Soundmass in 2005. After this recording the band began performing live with drummer Steve and replaced keyboardist Jim with a second guitarist, Conner.
In mid-2007, Synnöve went into the studio to record their first full-length album for Soundmass, a 50 minute epic titled The Whore and the Bride. Released on April 1, 2008, this album moved away from the gothic influences of their self-titled EP to a more aggressive twin-guitar black metal sound, with melodic doses of doom and death along the way.
