Soon after, Duyker returned to Sydney and talks had already begun with Hatziandreou about starting a new project. They created the name ''Wolfkahn'', which they intend to mean 'King (or Leader) of Wolves'. The word ''kahn'' is a slight variation on ''khan'' - meaning 'ruler' in Mongolian, which they felt aesthetically looked better as a word but also helped disassociate them with 'Wolfkhan', a little-known Polish black metal band who disbanded in the mid-90s.
