Band information
Hailing from Melbourne, White Widdow was formed in 2008 by The Deadthings front man Jules Millis along with bassist Trent Wilson (also of The Deadthings) and guitarist Enzo Almanzi. From its inception the vision was always to write and perform 80's Arena style melodic rock and hard edged AOR inspired by artists such as White Sister, Survivor, Treat, Dokken, Aviator, Bon Jovi and Roxus.
It was soon clear they would require a full time keyboard player so the band enlisted the help of Jules' brother Xavier , a two time ARIA (Australian Record Industry Award) nominee and a well versed keyboard player in many musical styles. With Xavier onboard, the writing team was in place and the line-up was then completed with Jim Naish on drums. Starting out playing live amongst the diverse Melbourne rock scene, White Widdow quickly established themselves as a solid live unit throughout Australia. In mid-2009 White Widdow recorded and released their free digital only EP which was very well received in selected press.
Mixed and mastered by Martin Kronlund (Overland, Joe Lynn Turner, Hammerfall, Bangalore Choir) at JM Studios in Sweden, their debut self titled album was released October 29, 2010 in Europe on AOR Heaven/Metal Heaven Records. The album was followed by a brief Australian tour as support act for Ted Poley (Danger Danger).
The debut was well received throughout the European press and White Widdow quickly turned out their second album in less than 12 months from the debut. The sophmore album "Serenade" was released on Sepetember 23, 2011 in Europe on the AOR Heaven label and In Japan through Rubicon Music on November 18th, 2011. White Widdow toured throughout Europe in support of the new release performing in Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Greece and England. During the tour White Widdow performed at Firefest (UK) and Heat Festival (Germany) alongside many Hard Rock acts including Keel, Shakra, Silent Rage, Stage Dolls, Unruly Child, Kane Roberts & more.
In March 2012, Drummer Jim Naish was replaced by George Kristy.
In May 2012 White Widdow returned to the U.K as part of a Melodic Rock package tour with TEN and Serpentine.
In June 2012 it was announced that vocalist Jules Millis was the new singer in successful 80's UK Glam band Tigertailz, but would also continue as vocalist with White Widdow.
