Band Information
Orpheus is a Melbourne band playing Dark Tranquility-style melodic death metal. While still being only a fairly new act, Orpheus opened for Amon Amarth during 2009, and completed an EP. They announced a signing to Just Say Rock Records in mid-2010 and in 2011 released their debut album that featured contributions from members of Black Majesty and Mors Principum Est. In 2012 the band supported Amon Amarth for a second time and later in the year recorded a live DVD and appeared at the Sonic Forge Festival. In early 2013, Orpheus completed their second album and announced in late April that the band was changing its name to Orpheus Omega. On the eve of their album launch on May 2, 2013, bassist Milky Adams died aged 34.
