Band information
Vaticide is a four piece from Sydney playing a style of very heavy metal that draws from classic death and thrash acts but with a modern approach and feel. Forming in 2002, the band began to build a strong live reputation after Dungeon drummer Stevo Moore joined and began to amass a list of key supports to touring bands. Late in 2004, Vaticide began work on an album and in March 2005 the band supported Pungent Stench, before going on to be one of the main acts at the Metalstock festival in Easter, organised by Rob on his property in Scone, NSW. Shortly afterwards, in May, Moore resigned from the band, forcing the cessation of Vaticide's live duties that was to include a show with Hate Eternal.
In early 2006 the band began playing live again with Mortal Sin drummer Luke Cook behind the kit. Around the same time, Alhaddad joined Switchblade on bass. Vaticide worked the local live scene solidly throughout 2006, although it was a busy time for several of the members as Alhaddad and Cook were also briefly with Killrazer as well as other bands. In early 2007 Vaticide opened for Suffocation, appeared at Metalstock and played with Mortal Sin, however by mid-year the band had once again announced that it was going on hiatus. Alhaddad continued with Switchblade for a year or so and Lardner-Brown joined Killrazer in 2007.
The album, recorded while Moore was still in the band, remains unreleased.
