Band information
Formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2008 and centered around the brothers Jules (Vocals) The Deadthings & Xavier Millis (Keyboards) and Guitar virtuoso Enzo Almanzi. Raised on a healthy diet of 80’s Arena Rock and influenced by artists such as Dokken, Harem Scarem, Van Halen, Survivor & Giuffria. In mid 2009 White Widdow recorded and released their free digital only EP which was very well received in selected press and started to create an interest in the band outside of their native Australia.
In 2010 White Widdow stormed onto the Melodic Rock scene across the globe with the release of their self titled debut album throughout Europe on the AOR Heaven label (TNT, FM, Stage Dolls). The release of the debut was met by the press with rave reviews making it into Classic Rock Magazine's top 10 AOR albums for 2010. An album full of Melodic Rock and AOR anthems filled with swirling keyboards, blistering guitar playing and big choruses full of hooks. White Widdow toured in support of the debut album throughout Australia including opening for Ted Poley (Danger Danger) and Los Angeles Glam band Pretty Boy Floyd.
Hot on the heels of their debut, White Widdow quickly returned with their follow up release Serenade in September 2011 (AOR Heaven). Proud of their 80’s influences, the new album “Serenade” retains the urgency and energy of the White Widdow debut , while also showcasing a more crafted song style and structure. Mixed and Mastered by Pelle Saether (Grand Design) at Studio Underground in Sweden. "Serenade" was heaped with praise by the press as one of the best albums of 2011, gaining 9/10 in both Classic Rock and Powerplay magazines and receiving a 94% on the coveted website melodicrock.com.
In support of Serenade, White Widdow hit the road playing festivals and headlining club shows to fanatical fans throughout Europe which saw them tour through Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Greece and England. Along the way performing at HEAT Festival (Germany) and Firefest (UK) and playing alongside artists including Jimi Jamison (Survivor), Steve Auguri (Journey), Unruly Child, Stage Dolls, Keel, Shakra, Strangeways, Silent Rage, Alien, Mitch Malloy, Coney Hatch, Jeff Paris, Kane Roberts and many more.
In November 2011 Serenade was released in Japan through Rubicon Music, the album received 88/100 in the world famous Japanese Hard Rock magazine Burrn.
In March 2012, drummer Jim Naish was replaced by George Kristy.
In May 2012, White Widdow returned for a successful full UK tour with TEN(UK) & Serpentine(UK) as a Melodic Rock Package tour.
In June 2012, It was announced that vocalist Jules Millis was the new singer for Legendary 80's UK Glam Metal band Tigertailz, but would also continue as vocalist for White Widdow.
In 2012, White Widdow toured Australia as support band for US band Lost Angels featuring John Corabi (Motley Crue/The Scream) & Erik Brittingham (Cinderella).
In 2013 Bass player Trent Wilson chose to retire from the Music Industry.
Sadly at the end of 2013 Drummer George Kristy passed away. RIP.
In 2014 White Widdow regrouped with a new line up featuring Ben Webster on Bass and Noel Tenny on Drums.
