Band Information
The Poor Boys formed in Darwin in 1986, growing out of a covers band formed by Skenie and Craig Ridsdale straight out of high school. By 1991 the band's line-up had settled as Skenie, Matt Whitby, Julian Grynglas and Mark Davis and The Poor Boys moved to Sydney, almost immediately going an a US tour with The Angels. Ex-BB Steal drummer James Young replaced Davis in 1992 and The Poor Boys released Rude, Crude & Tattooed soon after. In 1993 the band's second EP was released and they supported Alice in Chains and Suicidal Tendencies in October. With recording completed on their debut full-length album, The Poor Boys changed their name to The Poor in March 1994.
