Band information
Horde was an extremely coarse and abrasive grinding black metal solo project for Jayson Sherlock, the drummer for various Christian metal bands including Paramaecium and Mortification. Hellig Usvart exists purely as a Christian parody of the underground Satanic black metal scene. The album features underhandedly sarcastic song titles like "Invert the Inverted Cross" and "Clothe and Release the Virgin Sacrifice". Sherlock parodied the genre further by choosing the pseudonym "Anonymous" (a play on Euronymous from Mayhem). Sherlock assembled a band for a one-off show in 2006 and a live album resulted.
Extremely rare and unmusical beyond most limits of taste, Horde's album is for serious collectors only! Rowe Productions re-released the album in 2004.
