Band information
Aeturnus Dominion is an band from the NSW Central Coast playing a mixture of classic thrash and old school death metal. Most of the line-up had played together in various bands from the local area including Paen, Tritura, Jumpathug and Eternal Hate. Eventually Kronic was formed with Ted Foster, Steve Austen and Dave Wratten and shortly afterward Jesse Aiken joined the line-up, but Foster was injured in an accident and the band folded.
By late 2003 with Kristen from Torment on second guitar, the group reformed, taking on the name Aeturnus Dominion and releasing the Semper Tyrannis CD, most of which had already been recorded by Aiken and Foster. The band began playing live regularly on the Sydney circuit but both Wratten (bass) and Kristen quit the band suddenly. They were replaced by Campbell (guitar) and Lex (bass) from Eternal Hate, but Lex stayed only briefly and Kristen rejoined, this time on bass.
They released a second album in late 2006 and toured nationally with Dubai band Nervecell in early 2007. As work began on a third album, Aiken left the band for medical reasons to be replaced by Mary Lawton from Wagga Wagga band Diamorah. Grant "Thrax" Campbell left Aeturnus Dominion in December 2007 and was shortly replaced by Morbid Matt, whose previous band MurderWorld had just folded. A month later Lawton left for personal reasons and was replaced by former Manticore and Misery vocalist Darren Goulding. The group's line-up hassles have since continued with Phythian leaving in early 2008; Ibbotson was removed from the band shortly after. The line-up issues continued with Goulding departing. In November 2008, Goulding returned and Wells joined on drums but by May the following year the singer had been fired. The group was forced off the road when Foster broke his leg, finally returning in September with new vocalist Dan Barrett. Wells was replaced by former drummer Austen in 2010; he is now a member of Abacination.
The current AD line-up is now Foster, Kristen, Austen, guitarist PJ Westbury,-- who replaced Adam Minter, now of Autolysis -- and Osmium Grid vocalist Ian Tomlinson, who took over from Barrett when he left to pursue a football career. Aeturnus Dominion played their 100th show in December 2013 and a new album was due in 2014 but Westbury departed mid-year.
