Band information
Western Decay was a melodic death metal group from Brisbane, with a sound borderlining on melodic metalcore. In their years of existence the band performed sporadically in their home state and in New South Wales including tours of North Queensland, appearances at Overcranked, Metalstock and Gordofest throughout 2006 and 2007 and released a three-way split EP with local lads Infinite Thought Process and Naked Burn. Vocalist Lochlan Watts was part of the team behind punk/hardcore magazine Death Before Dishonour and also a drummer for a few other Brisbane artists, while bassist Sam was previously a member of Apex Null and is now playing guitar for Brisbane death metallers Defamer. Josh departed the band at the end of 2007. The band was seeking a replacement, while continuing to write and prepare for a full-length album but had disbanded by July 2008.
