Band Information

Sydney's Persecution was a band whose allegiances seemed to shift with every different song they played. Their stance and attitude was one of a hardcore punk band, but musically Persecution embraced the stylistics of extreme metal. Originally formed by Hunt in 1991 as a death metal band, Persecution's sound developed after Bartolo and Neil joined in 1994 to incorporate hardcore elements with death, grind and doom, creating a confronting, violent and unique style. The band existed concurrently with the Unclean, a brutal and uncompromising hardcore unit that also featured Bartolo, Neil and Gillis.

Hunt later formed the hardcore band Murder with Brett Curotta of Massappeal and is also a writer and photographer for Sydney's Drum Media. Since 2007, he has fronted the sludge band Summonus.
