Band information

Black Asylum was a thrash band from Wyong on the NSW Central Coast that formed in 2004. Releasing an EP at each end of 2006, the group featured at shows like Metalstock and completed an album in 2007 for release in 2008. In January 2008 Travis Klerk from Rather Be Dead replaced Chris Jones, who joined Sydney band Dred. Soon afterward, the band released their debut album.

The band completed Anthem of Order during 2009 and in September opened for Cannibal Corpse in Sydney. In March 2010 the band won the MusicOz Award for Best Hardcore/Metal Act and opened for Hellyeah in July. After this the band stripped down to a four piece with the addition of Dawesy on guitar and Steve Lake on bass. In May 2011 the band announced it had split.
