Band Information
Pleasure Ground was an excellent boogie and blues-based heavy rock band from Sydney highlighted by the soaring, soulful vocals of Terrens, who formed the band with Beauchamp after the dissolution of Box The Jesuit. Former Massappeal and Meridian bassist Spence and one-time Suffer and Persecution drummer Kotevski completed the line-up with Brissenden on guitar. Despite the death metal/hardcore/art rock background of most of the players, Pleasure Ground's style was rooted in the 70s power rock tradition.
With Reimann worked into the line-up (the band's fourth guitarist in just over a year), Pleasure Ground was invited to tour nationally as the house band on a pro surfing tour. Beauchamp was not keen to tour so she left, leaving Pleasure Ground as a four piece. The band vanished almost as soon as the CD came out. Kotevski supplied some drum tracks on Rok from Sadistik Exekution's solo album and Spence was for a time a member of Screamage.
James Richmond relocated to London in 1999 where he works as a touring/session musician and is a founding member of avant-rock collective Lotus Throne.
